Purpose: To promote the Maine Civil Rights Act and make school safe for all students regardless of race, color, religion, ancestry, national origin, gender, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation.
Activities and pursuits: The CRT provides educational opportunities for the school community to better understand the impact our words and actions have on others, with the goal of creating a safe, civil, and tolerant community. We are involved in a number of activities throughout the year, including: Giving homeroom presentations, bringing in guest speakers, creating display projects, offering film viewings, and fundraising.
Our most important function is to provide support to students who are working to end harassment in our school and to students who are victims of harassment.
Meeting times: Monday's after school in Ms. Watt’s room (201). Committees may meet more frequently when working on a specific project. Each year officers are elected, and they are responsible for attending two extra meetings a month.
